DAFC U13s 2 – 1 Vintners FC U13s
Author Paul Evison | Date Wed 28th Mar 2012

On a lovely spring day with not even the slightest hint of rain both teams started brightly like the glorious sun above.

With recent training being all about keeping the ball and holding possession the Dover boys were playing football with a real vigour and a inner confidence that allowed their natural style of play to prosper and shine.

With Vitners  also looking  good going forward both teams wanted to draw first blood and it was DAFC that went 1-0 up when good work from REECE GRAHAM  who found Hayden TELLES who’s delightful through ball found the blistering pace of SHY LEVER LEWIS who superbly buried the ball past the keeper for a excellent finish making it 1-0 at HT.

Dover looked very comfortable at this stage  and continued to play fine football and they almost made it 2-0 when another fine pass from the on form TELLES who found LEVER LEWIS again to tear down on goal to force a fine save from the Vitners keeper, the ball then fell to “ TB “ who’s  delightful chip from 30 yards sailed over everybody to crash upon the crossbar much to the agony of all the Dover players, parents and management team , it was a excellent effort which showed great vision and technique that really did deserve a goal.

This only made Dover more determined and they soon found themselves 2 – 0 up when another fine ball from “ TB “ found LEVER LEWIS who smashed a unstoppable shot over the keeper with a fantastic finish from a striker who has had a brilliant first season playing in the Kent Youth League.

With Dover now looking very comfortable and the DAFC back four looking solid all afternoon Vitners managed to score a consolation goal making the final score 2-1 and a much deserved 2-1 win for the Dover boys.

Man Of The Match went to KANE RANDALL with his tireless running and all round competitive midfield display covering every inch of ground playing with a pride and a passion that the Dover  Athletic badge deserves.

Dover Athletic Under 13’s  play their last game of the season at home to Ramsgate for a 11.00am kick off.
