NEW YEAR’S DAY PREVIEW: MAIDSTONE V WHITES

Whites start 2019 with a trip to the Gallagher Stadium to face their Kent rivals for a second time in a week.

Second half goals from Mitch Brundle, Bedsente Gomis and Inih Effiong saw Andy Hessenthaler’s men come back from a goal down in the reverse fixture on Boxing Day to win 3-1.

However Dover’s boss will notice a different management team in the opposition dugout on Tuesday afternoon.

Stones’ parted with boss Harry Wheeler by mutual consent last week, with midfielder Simon Walton and assistant manager Tristan Lewis placed in caretaker charge.

And the duo had a good start to management, overseeing a 1-0 win at Boreham Wood on Saturday to move their side to within three points of Athletic on the National League ladder with a game in hand.

Six of the Dover squad will be familiar with their surroundings when they arrive for Tuesday’s big match.

Stuart Lewis, Kevin Lokko, Bobby-Joe Taylor, Jai Reason, Lee Worgan and Alfie Pavey have all featured for the Stones in the past.
