PREVIEW: DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE V WHITES

Dover will be aiming to keep their unbeaten league run going when they visit Victoria Road on Tuesday.

Chris Kinnear’s men are undefeated in 10 league games and last suffered a loss on their travels seven matches ago at Macclesfield Town in August.

But Athletic’s recent run of form will be severely tested against a Daggers side that boast the strongest home record in the division, having accumulated 22 points from a possible 30 so far.

Josh Passley, Femi Ilesanmi and Chris Lewington will be familiar with their surroundings.

Passley made 41 appearances in a two-year spell with Dag & Red, Ilesanmi played 120 times during a four-year stay and Lewington made 138 appearances during a five-year period.

And travelling fans will recognise some of their opponents.

Defender Bondz N’Gala played five matches for Whites last season and first team coach Junior Lewis featured 84 times for the club between 1993-96.

DAGENHAM AND REDBRIDGE’S RECENT FORM

DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE 3-2 GUISELEY

John Still’s men fought back from a two-goal deficit to win all three points at Victoria Road.

Luke Howell grabbed the winner ten minutes from time after Morgan Ferrier and Scott Doe had cancelled out earlier strikes from the Lions’ Lee Molyneux and Mike Fondop-Talom.

Molyneux’s deflected 18th minute deflected effort had the visitors in front and Fondop-Talom tapped in Kevan Hurst’s knock-down five minutes later to double the advantage.

The Daggers pulled one back on 29 minutes when Ferrier fired a shot into the top corner and defender Doe levelled just before the break, slotting home Corey Whitely’s corner.

Whitley also assisted the home side’s winner, firing in an effort which rebounded for Howell to stab in.

PREVIOUS MEETING:

WHITES 1-2 DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE

Dover slumped to their eighth defeat in 12 games against the Daggers as the Essex side ended Dover’s four-game National League winning streak.

First half goals from on-loan Brighton winger Jordan Maguire-Drew and veteran Paul Benson laid the foundations for the win, their third consecutive on the road.

Ricky Miller had a penalty saved before finally reducing the deficit with eight minutes to play, but it was too little, too late to salvage anything from the game.

The visitors opened the scoring through Maguire-Drew – and the TV replay won’t make for happy viewing for Dover goalkeeper Steve Arnold.

Arnold appeared set to gather Maguire-Drew’s 30-yard free-kick before slipping and could only look up in horror as the ball sailed over him into the back of his net.

But Arnold could not prevent Daggers extending their lead from the resulting corner – taken by that man Maguire-Drew.

His cross was headed home by 37-year-old Benson, his first goal for Daggers since 2010.

Arnold kept his side in with a chance of getting something out of the game after saving from Benson after the striker had pounced on captain Jamie Grimes’ back pass.

And that saved proved vital after Miller gave Dover hope with his 22nd goal of the National League campaign.

Grimes headed substitute Mitch Pinnock’s long throw into the danger zone and Miller volleyed home.

There was to be no more joy for Whites as Dagenham completed the double over boss Chris Kinnear’s side following the 2-0 win at Victoria Road in September.
