After another week where off the pitch matters over-shadowed the football, Dover Athletic's Conference survival hopes took another blow as they lost to Hereford United at Crabble.
Clive Walker, in his second spell in charge of the first team this season, brought Lee Shearer back into the starting line-up to replace Jimmy Aggrey. With Leon Kelly and Matt Carruthers absent through suspension, Scott Ramsay continued alongside Keith Scott up front. Chris Allen came back into the squad as a substitute.
Hereford, who had beaten the Whites twice this season already, never really looked particularly threatening in the first half. Only Phil Robinson's shot troubled Paul Hyde, whilst at the other end the Whites had a few more chances, Kevin Seabury coming closest.

Dover looked most likely to take the lead in the second period. Jamie Day's curling 25-yard effort went just wide with the keeper beaten on 50 minutes.
Chris Allen replaced Neil Le Bihan on 51 minutes, and he and Kevin Seabury looked most dangerous for Athletic.
However, as Dover's search for a goal became more urgent, Hereford took advantage. Steve Piearce capitalised on a defensive mix-up to lob Paul Hyde with a perfectly judged chip on 79 minutes. That was enough to give the visitors all three points and leave Dover with an even tougher task to avoid relegation.
