Coach Michael Sandmann praises the youngsters work ethic and overall performance against strong opposition.

Match Report from the Academy boss:

A excellent performance from the lads and a well deserved victory, in which they had to dig deep and work extremely hard against a very strong Redbridge side.

We started the game well, passing the ball across the pitch and creating some good opportunities in wide areas. Redbridge took control of the game midway through the half, keeping the ball well, making us work hard to regain possession.

After half time we pressed higher up the pitch, working hard as a unit and making it difficult for Redbridge to control the game. The game become very stretched with both teams trying to find the opener and it nearly come with a excellent training ground free kick we have been working on resulting in a superb save.

Minutes later the opener looked certain with Loynes rounding the goalkeeper, only to see his goal ruled out with a dubious offside.

Redbridge continued to press but were unable to beat Ben Humphrey, who produced a couple of excellent saves. The winner come in the 80th minute, Sean Ragett with a good finish at the back post from a well worked corner.

An excellent game in which both teams tried to pass but credit to the lads they worked extremely hard. I am very pleased with their performance and they deserved their victory.
