PREVIEW: CHESTER V WHITES

PREVIEW: CHESTER V WHITES

DOVER striker Ross Lafayette will be hoping to banish the nightmare of the last time he played at Chester on Saturday.

He was in the Aldershot Town team that was hammered 8-2 last March, the Shots heaviest ever defeat.

Lafayette, who was on loan from Eastleigh at the time, scored one of the goals for the Hampshire side.

While Lafayette does not have fond memories of his last outing at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium, the same cannot be said for his Dover strike partner, Ricky Miller.

Miller scored the Non League Goal of the Season with a sublime finish following superb lead up work from Stefan Payne and Ricky Modeste.

That game ended 1-1, the second consecutive draw between the two sides last season following the 0-0 stalemate at Crabble in August.

Chester will start the game 15th on the National League ladder, six places and seven points behind boss Chris Kinnear’s side.

*BS* WHAT IS CHESTER MANAGER JON McCARTHY SAYING ABOUT DOVER *BF*

“They are strong, maybe not as strong as last year as they have had a lot of changes,” McCarthy told the Chester Chronicle.

“They are another team who is up there who will be a threat to our recent run of good form.

“They are out on a limb down there but able to attract some good players at our level. They are starting to show good form and it is a good test for us and that is what we want.”

They are unbeaten in four games and have not conceded a goal in the process.

The Blues have won their last two home games against Braintree (1-0) and Guiseley (2-0).

Their last two away games both ended in 0-0 draws at Wrexham last Saturday, and at Aldershot Town on September 10th.
